The CDTV's Audio CD Player.

Picture Of Audio CD Player.

This is the Audio CD player which is built into the CDTV's operating system, It automatically loads after an audio CD is put into the CDTVs internal CD-Rom. The player supports CDDA (Standard Audio CD's), CD+Midi (Which lets you play along with your favorite song using a Midi instrument like a electric piano), CD+G (Kareoki CD's, CD+G's display the lyrics of the song).
There are a lot of controls for the CDDA playback so I will go through them one at a time starting from the top right going clockwise:

The 20 small boxes in the top right display the current track list (As standard it displays 1,2,3,4, Etc...), You can select each box and then type in a two digit track number which will cause the CDTV to go to the track you entered when that box is reached so for example you wanted to play track 1 then 5 then 1 then 7 you just go to the correct box (The first song to be played is the top left box.).

The three boxes under the track display alter the display and playback of the tracks, The left most button alters the time display (To its left), As standard it counts how long has played in the current track but it can display total time played, Total time remaining in current track and total time remaining on the CD.
The middle one is the random setting, It mixes the play list up so track one is not always first and track two is not always second, Infact the whole play list is randomly selected (But each track only gets played once).
The last button on this row can turn half of the tracks off, Clicking it again turns them all back on again.

The bottom right row are Intro, Loop & CD+ player.
The intro button plays only the first ten seconds of each track before moving onto the next track.
The loop button does two things, When pressed once it loops the CD so when the final track is reached it returns to the first track (What ever number is in the top left box of the track selector).
Secondly it can loop an individual track so when the one song finishes it rewinds and restarts the same song again and again, Pressing the button again will return it to no looping (It stops when the last track is reached).
The CD+ player is for CD+Midi and CD+G titles, You click this button and a new screen will come up with a picture of the CD controls on the front of the CDTV, To start the CD+G or CD+Midi simply push play on your joypad or front of the CDTV or press play on the audio player before pressing the button.

On the bottom left are the stop, rewind, play, Fast Forward and pause buttons (In that order).

Above the play buttons is a LCD display of the time played in the current track ,This can be altered using the button to the right of it (Discribed above).

Above the LCD display is the CD, This CD represents the real CD in the drive, When a CD is put into the CDTV the CD slid's in from the left, When the CD-Rom is removed it slides out the same way. The CD Rom remains spinning (Even when the drive powers down to save power).

The item above the CD is the CD-Rom laser, No really it is, It also doubles up as the current track display, This shows what track you are currently playing (Or waiting to play). When the CD is playing a laser comes out of the one gun, bounces off the CD and back into the other gun, When a track has finished the laser moves to the right, On to the next track (Unless there are no more tracks).
