Commodore CD1411 External Diskdrive.

This is the Commodore`s external diskdrive, It can hold upto 880Kb of data on a single DSDD (Double Sided, Double Density) disk and is instantly recognised by the CDTV when it is turned on. The disk can not read 1.74 Meg floppy disks (used on the latter Amiga 4000`s).

The disk drive connects to the Disk Drive port at the rear of the CDTV and is mounted as DF0: (The only Commodore Amiga that can have an external disk drive mounted as DF0:).
This disk drive started out as an upgrade for the Amiga 500 (The Amiga 1000 had a much larger version which was still available when the manuals for the A500 were made) and was just moulded in black for the CDTV, With no internal modification.
The drive was included as part of the Pro pack which also included a keyboard & mouse on top of the standard CDTV and IR joypad but it was also available seperatly for approximatly £50.
