The Elbox CDTV 2.
A 2 Meg Fast Ram and Battery Backed Clock for the CDTV.

This upgrade adds two meg of Fast Ram to the CDTV and a battery to connect to the CDTV which powers the CDTV's clock when disconnected from the power (IE In storage/transportation).
It fits under the 68000 CPU leaving the Diagnostic connector free and on power up the extra 2 meg of ram is instantly accessible.
The battery backed up clock takes a lot of fitting, You have to cut lets of chips and solder the wires from the card to the chip legs, Unfortunately Commodore added a reset signal to the clock which has to be cut else every time the CDTV is plugged back in the first thing it would do is reset the time. :( The battery doesnt need to be fitted, I have one of these cards and have not connected it up.
The card comes with an installation guide which shows in detail what to cut and what not to cut (And it is needed, You dont want to cut a leg of the CPU or solder the battery to a Data line), To just install the memory all you do is remove the CPU, Plug this card in its slot and put the CPU back on top of it all, There finished.
The CDTV loads its drivers into the new fast ram so you end up with 950Kb of Chip ram instead of the 6/700 Kb, speeding up High Res Ham screens noticeably.
Like all fast ram upgrades this one requires no drivers, Can be mounted as a bootable RAD drive, used as a temporary drive (Mounted by Workbench as the "Ram Disk" every time) and oh yes you can play larger games, Animations and if you want you can do more work without saving.
The card costs between £75 to £99 (Try Vesalia for the best price).
